Part of our mission at SWCT is promoting independence, self-determination and quality of life for our clients. Social outings are a key part of our commitment to promote our client’s wellness and reablement.
We strive to innovate and diversify the social experiences we offer, holding weekly socials to a range of locations, selected to balance your interests and independence with your safety and wellbeing.
Our calendar provides a program of regular outings, such as scenic drives, plays and musicals, formal gardens, history tours, animal parks and zoos, markets and outlets, cruises and races. Our highly popular overnight trips offer a well-priced, entertaining experience tailored to your accessibility needs.
Our social outings also cover staples such Bunnings, Spotlight or garden Centres. This allows clients to visit these stores regularly to stock up on hobby or maintenance supplies as they are generally not covered by our regular shopping program.
Every Friday we run Friendly Foodie Fridays, where you can visit a local club, café, restaurant or pub for a lunch date. Costs are kept to a minimum, with the driver dropping you off for lunch and picking you up afterward.
Small Group Outings
SWCT runs small group outings using public transport. One of our buses will pick you up from home and take you on to a bus or train station where you will be met by one of our staff members who will accompany you to travel on buses, trains and ferries using your Opal Card, allowing you to explore our cities in a way that could not be done in larger groups.
Your initial shuttle to the meeting point will cost you a fee. The rest of the transport is at your own cost using your own Opal Card. You can bring a packed lunch, or you can buy food at any number of stops we make along the way. Call us on (02) 9426 8999 to make a booking.
