SWCT is able to provide both manual and electric wheelchairs to support clients during transport and at the venue/s. Support will be provided by team members in pushing and operating chairs.
The majority of South West Community Transport vehicles are fitted with hoist and wheelchair restraints, The hoist may be used for people needing wheelchair access or for people who have difficulty getting up and down steps. The driver will ride on the hoist with you to ensure your safety.
If you need access to the vehicle via a hoist than please let our staff know when making your booking.
To support clients requiring access to mandatory oxygen during transport, SWCT Provides access to Oxygen Concentrators
Clients wishing to access the oxygen concentrators will be asked to provide a SWCT Permission Certificate to Access Oxygen Concentrator Form completed and signed by their doctor. This certificate will be valid for 12 months at which time we will require a new certificate from their doctor.
The level of oxygen required, as prescribed by a Medical Practitioner, will be shown on the run sheet. A driver WILL NOT change the level of oxygen. If a driver is requested to do so by the client they must cease transport and contact the office immediately. SWCT does NOT transport oxygen cylinders.
Baby Capsules/ Booster Seats
SWCT also offers Baby Capsules and Booster Seats, please let the Booking Staff know if you require either of these when making your booking.
